Newsletter December 2024 | 17

What a year!…………..

I’m starting this newsletter by thanking everyone who has contributed, in any way, to making my work possible! After more than five years, I’m still amazed at how my life has turned out, how I’ve been able to do my work and how I still do it, and you have, you have contributed to that!

Thank you a thousand times over!

So much has happened this year that I don’t even know where to begin!
Many training sessions and rewarding work with the women of OM Africa, a sewing course at Isubilo in Ndola, my first visit from the Netherlands, and…

We have our own mission center/business!
Twalumbu Missions!
Curious? More on that later!

We also need financial support! For our center and our work!

Read on!

Greetings, Jannie, Mobuley, Mark en Joseph

Thanks so much for your support and prayers!

NEWS

Our hard work and investment are paying off!

The greatest blessing is that we have our own Mission Center! A place where we can combine business and ministry!

TWALUMBU MISSIONS

We are eager to share the gospel and impact the community of Twapia, where we live, through a holistic approach that addresses both immediate needs and long-term development.

We aim to improve the quality of life by providing a reliable water supply and plan to offer local business and vocational training courses in the future. Our commitment to economic advancement includes soon operating a service mill and selling home-grown fresh vegetables and chickens!

The rainbow appears in the sky which means rain is near!

We need help with TWALUMBU MISSIONS!

GIVE | DONATE FORSOLAR ENERGIE!

We need help for TWALUMBU MISSIONS!

WE NEED ‘SOLAR ENERGY’ IN EVERY WAY!

Help us get solar energy on Twalumbu Farm so we can help build a future for Twapia!

Our Mission Center, called Twalumbu Missions, exists to help the people in the surrounding area and especially to reach those in need. There is currently a significant lack of consistent power. We are without power for approximately 18-21 hours every day! This is because there hasn’t been enough rain to generate electricity, and the rain that fell last year and this year is far from sufficient!

We therefore urgently need solar energy to be operational and to work more efficiently and effectively! Because our investment budget no longer allows for it, and this is a circumstance we hadn’t anticipated, we must raise funds to reach the necessary amount for solar energy!

The guideline for what is needed to power the entire farm/center is €40,000.

It’s a very high amount, we realize, but with the current state of electricity generation in Zambia, we also have to think about the future!

We’re confident we’ll succeed!

Why do I do what I do?………………….Read Malika’s story

A new creation

“…one who is in Christ, a new creation. The old has passed away, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17

People often ask me why I do what I do and why I dedicate myself to other women without expecting anything in return. For me, it’s a calling. I know I’m called to preach the gospel and, in doing so, to help women see their worth through God’s Word. This way, they can receive healing.

Malika* from North Africa was very young when her father died. She was placed with one of her aunts. She describes the life she had there as hell. As a young girl, she was used for chores and abused for everything she did wrong. Bedwetting was punished with beatings in her private parts. These frightened her into walking normally for days.

Everyone wanted her in their home, not out of love, but for the chores. That’s how she ended up with her uncle. It became a living hell there. Her uncle beat her so severely on the back that open wounds developed. The scars are still clearly visible. He also “womanized” her at the age of six; she was systematically raped for years.

As Malika grew older, she became completely alienated from men. Yet, someone noticed her and let her know he loved her despite what had happened to her. Malika couldn’t believe it. The man was a born-again Christian and modeled how a man should behave. He treated her with love and respect. And by telling her about Jesus, Malika accepted Jesus as her Savior and Redeemer! They married and had children. The uncle was HIV-positive, and it’s a miracle of God that Malika wasn’t infected!

The past continued to haunt her, and it took years before she could share her story. Only after completing our training and guidance could she do this and truly know that she was loved by Christ. She could leave her past behind and feel free! Free in Christ! A peace that only Christ can give! The old has passed, the new has come…

Do you understand why I do what I do?

*Malika is not her real name

Columns.

At regular intervals I send a column from Zambia to the church magazine ‘Geandewei’, for the Drachten | Leeuwarden | Dokkum. The topics are very diverse and provide even more insight into my life in Zambia and what keeps me busy.

Finally a visit from the Netherlands!

We all went camping for two days in a safari tent in Nsobe, a 1.5-hour drive from Ndola..

Training in Zimbabwe

Meeting on Tuesday morning at Isubilo with all colleagues

PPattern drawing lessons and small projects to master details of sewing,

Assignment to make bags for someone from America

Collecting water on our farm by children from the community..
3 sections where we can keep 300 chickens, these are about 2 weeks old.
This is how the chickens are slaughtered before they are delivered to our customer, very primitive!
The rains have started and the vegetables are starting to take shape! Soon, homegrown vegetables! For customers outside of Twalumbu, but also to the community.

I’m truly asking for your help! As a family and for our work, we’re currently completely dependent on financial donations, and unfortunately, we’re still not receiving enough each month. We’re very frugal, and sometimes it’s difficult to provide for all our necessary needs, cover our expenses, and also help people.

I would therefore like to appeal to you. If you have it on your heart, would you like to help and ensure that I can at least continue to do my work and help women? There is currently a monthly deficit of approximately €200 – €300.

So every (fixed monthly) contribution is desperately needed!

You can contribute financially in various ways, check this online via the ‘DONATE NOW!

Are you willing to help?
